| On Ardermina Online, there is a sequence on startup that allows the player to design their own character. This persona will allow them to interact with the Virtual Reality constructs that await them. The process is as follows: - A boot screen walks the player through physical calibration.
- The equipment then connects to survers and patches automatically, generally only the length of the minute-long cinematic that prefaces each gameplay session.
- On first boot, player will be prompted to choose a name, gender, appearance and weapon type for their character. After this, a player will be asked to choose a region with which to align themselves and also an Element* to be their Primary.
- Player, through the use of their avatar, is then deposited into the training room corresponding to their region choice for a quick tutorial (the tutorial is only mandatory on first boot).
- From here, the player has free roam of the territory.
Notes: -If a character dies, they are transported to the training room for respawn, unless they carry an item which allows for them to spawn in the same area. -Physical calibration is not mandatory for every boot, however, it may be requested by pushing the small black button on the side of the player's helmet. *ELEMENTS*- Ardermina Online seeks to invoke your creativity in game every chance the system gets. Because of this, there is no set options for the 'Element' that your character can control. Simply input the text that you would wish to see your character control, and the system will outfit you with whichever set of powers it feels corresponds the best (Usually, it takes it very literally. So if you input something like 'Bogers' to try to be funny, be prepared to be covered in snot).
Define *PRIMARY*- Your primary element is the one you select during character creation. When you first start out, you will be unable to conjure the element, but only manipulate it from the source. For example, drawing from a lake for Water manip, or brightening or dimming a lamp for Light manip. Over the course of your gameplaying experience, you will have the option of pursuing your Primary or adopting a Secondary (for those players who didn't like how the system interpreted their Element choice). The NPCs around the world will spread word in certain towns about quests that can be undertaken to either advance your Primary or obtain your Secondary. You may only take one of these quest options; once you choose one or the other, that is the Element path you are set on. Be warned, however; when you adopt your Secondary, you will be unable to level up your Primary, though your current rudimentary level of understanding will remain with you, locked at rudimentary understanding. | |
